I forgive them.

Politics is a dirty game, and the long time Republican strategy of creating racial strife created many racists in our country. They created people like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Sean Hannity, who all express hints racism in their rants on air.

Republicans need to turn the page and stop creating the racial divide.

I forgive them, but I will never be a Republican. I will never accept a party that did what the Republicans did for the last 45 years.

My friends and classmates today were bothering me about how "white" I act (I am a black girl). I know there’s nothing wrong with being called "white", but it bothers me that if I do well in school and use correct grammar I am not considered black anymore. Should I say something about it or should I forget about it because it’s not that big of a deal?

Your friends and classmates are pointless little douchebags. Find some friends that have a clue and tell the rest of your classmates to kiss your @ss.

Yes, there IS very much something wrong with them calling you "white" because they do not mean it as a kindness or a compliment. What these little idiots are doing is demeaning you and trying to make you feel self-concious because you do well in school and use correct grammar – and honey, white people definately do not have ownership rights to either doing well or speaking properly.

Seeking excellence is not a "white" thing, it’s a HUMAN thing, and you have every bit as much of a right to it as anyone else. You are black. You know damn well you are black. And yes, you really do need to say something – not anything nasty, but just to let people know to stop acting stupid.

I have had to listen to the same crap my entire life. I am at the point where I am too old and too tired to be either patient or amused by that sort of ignorance. My standard response to anyone calling me "white girl" usually starts off with "b*tch, do I look white to you?" and gets uglier from there.

On St. Patricks day, I often go to parades with my dad, who is irish, I’m half black and irish. Since I look black everyone at the parades look at me like i’m not supposed to be there.

Well, then they are small-minded people; and you’ll have to forgive them for their ignorance and small minded-ness..I am African-American, and dear, you’re going to have to learn to accept the reality of being a person of color living on this planet. Look at all the struggles African-Americans have gone through and are still going through. There has been a lot of pain and suffering. But always remember this: "Black is Beautiful", and you should be proud of who you are. Be proud to be a child of God, and be proud to be a descendant of some of the most strongest people on the planet–the African slaves. Dont walk around with you head bowed down–and dont apologize for being black & biracial. Those same people who are looking at you like that–will spend tons of money this summer to get your natural bronze skin-color, and will pay a plastic surgoen to get your lips and hips.

In South Africa there was conflict between whites and blacks, but also between different tribes.
In Nigeria there has just been conflict between different tribes. The white/black conflict has been much smaller.

My biology lab partners are white, I don’t feel comfortable around them.
They don’t seem friendly and they dont talk to me. what should I do?

Some people are just more unsocial than others. It might just be that they do not know you so they don’t say much. When I was in college, I had many lab partners (white, black, Asian, etc.) that just stuck to their studies and talked about nothing else. Unless it is clearly evident (ex. if they make a mean remark), I wouldn’t take it personal. Try to strike up a conversation and break the ice.
