Medieval Sex ~ 5
Inside the Medieval Mind is a documentary exploration of medieval attitudes by historian Robert Bartlett. Religious interpretations dominated the thinking of the time, including notions about sexuality that make modern fundamentalists look liberated and tolerant.

VAT Value Added Tax – A BETTER alternative tax solution.
http://freegasdvd.com If you believe we are being taxed to death, you gotta see this! The value added tax isn’t fair. Did you know only 50% of the country actually pays taxes? What if (instead of a value added tax that would break most peoples backs and put them in worse financial shape) there were a much simplier way to tax that is more fair and gets everyone to pay taxes but to pay much less?

When we talk about Progressive "Extreme" Metal..why does Holland’s PESTILENCE never make the conversation?
This band was pretty much Atheist… BEFORE Atheist, in many ways. (Though I would readily concede Atheist as being a better band overall.)
That said, they paved the way for bands like Cynic and Atheist, and were IMO equally crucial to the development of the Progressive Jazz Metal sound, and a whole lot less gimmicky than Cynic to boot. And whether they were playing Thrash (Early Pestilence), Progressive Death Metal (Mid Era) or the Jazz Metal they play now, they have done it rather well.
Plus any band with Jeroen Paul Thesseling on his fretless 6 sting Bass is gonna give a real music fan an eargasm. (My only complaint being he had not joined by my favorite album "Testimony of the Ancients).

Anyhow.. why no love for Pestilence? ESPECIALLY from all you proclaimed Prog-Heads?
MQ- Favorite Pestilence Album?
MQ2- Favorite Pestilence track?
BQ- What is it about Pestilence that you love or hate?
(Actually from what I heard off their 09 album it was almost Pure TechDeath Metal)
(And for all you new to them, but more into Prog than Extreme Metal.. try Spheres first. If you like the Metal.. then Testimony of the Ancients.) I loved these guys way back when, but admit I sorta forgot about em til I found a bunch of their albums at the used record store. Happy Peaches!
Hmm….yeah..pestilence hardly gets a nod here in Y!A….but they’re one heck of a band…i have 3 albums of theirs…Consuming Impulse, Testimony of the Ancients and Spheres….im a huge huge fan of the latter 2….Consuming Imp. was more straight forward thrash/death…Testimony is a real fun album…really energetic but quite proggy….Spheres is their masterpiece imo…really well written songs in that…well structured..it had some jazz moments…
MA : Spheres
MA2 : Hmmm….ill pick one from Testimony… "land of tears"
BA : dont hate anything abt them….i just wish Pestilence, Cynic, Death and Atheist would’ve had a ‘The Big 4 of Prog Death metal " world tour….
atleast i wish the 3 active bands would do one together…that would be so awesome!!
one thing that really still surprises me that all these so called prog death bands of that era sound so so different from each other…take Cynic, Atheist, Pestilence, Death etc….all these bands sound totally different but they’re thrown into the prog death scene….but i guess there’s no other alternative…
